BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 19 /SRNA/ – Many workers who went to EU countries for employment are considering returning, as life in the EU has become expensive and insecure, labor market expert Dominik Raškaj assessed.

"The EU is no longer what it was 30 years ago. Today, a family of four cannot make ends meet in the EU on less than 4,000 euros per month. You have to work at least two additional jobs," Raškaj said in a new episode of the SRNA podcast.

He believes that Republika Srpska is facing a shortage of skilled and practically trained labor, while young people are increasingly seeking a better balance between work and private life.

"The education system must provide more practical training. Schools and companies need to be much more closely connected," Raškaj said, pointing to the positive results of retraining programs implemented by the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska.

He assessed that agriculture represents a major opportunity for Srpska, and that the country should build stronger economic ties with other markets.

"Agriculture is key to survival," Raškaj said.

The podcast featuring Dominik Raškaj will be broadcast tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. on SRNA’s service, as well as on its YouTube channel and social media platforms.
