RAJILIĆ: KILLERS OF JNA SOLDIERS SITTING IN CANTONAL GOVERNMENT IN TUZLA UNACCEPTABLE

BANJA LUKA, May 14 /SRNA/ – The head of the Association of Women Victims of War of Republika Srpska Božica Živković-Rajilić stated that it is unacceptable that many participants in the 1992 attack on members of the Yugoslav People's Army /JNA/ in Tuzla now hold high-ranking positions in the Tuzla Canton government.

"The Court of BiH handed down only a minimal sentence for this horrific crime, instead of holding hundreds of members of those paramilitary units accountable," Živković-Rajilić told SRNA, adding that the judiciary at the state level is not issuing new indictments for this serious crime.

Živković-Rajilić emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the JNA soldiers who were killed by Muslim units in Tuzla in a treacherous ambush, while they were retreating peacefully, without resistance, as agreed.

"The deceitful and underhanded policy of the Tuzla region publicly advocated peace, while secretly arming and preparing for war," said Živković-Rajilić.

She added that what followed was a mass expulsion of Serbs, not only from Tuzla but also from surrounding municipalities of that region.
