PROFESSOR ŽELJKO BUDIMIR’S BOOK THE BIRTH OF ANGLO-AMERICAN GEOPOLITICS PRESENTED

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - The book titled The Birth of Anglo-American Geopolitics by Željko Budimir, a professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Banja Luka, was presented in Banja Luka this evening.

It was described as a useful guide to understanding current geopolitical processes in the world.

Budimir stressed that the book examines Anglo-American geopolitics and the emergence of a new geopolitics.

As he explained, this is a classical approach to a school of geopolitics that shaped the 20th century, the principles of which have remained constant into the 21st century.

“As a university professor and lecturer teaching geopolitics, strategic studies and international relations, this shows that, during a certain period, we managed to complete some of our research,” Budimir told reporters at the Banja Luka Book Fair ahead of the book’s promotion.

Ljubiša Despotović, president of the Institute for Political Studies in Belgrade, said that Professor Budimir, as a scholar, managed to cover such a significant topic as a century and a half of Anglo-American geopolitical influence and its development from the Cold War to the present day in a relatively concise work.

“The book not only serves as a primary educational resource for those who have not studied geopolitics, but also as a useful guide to understanding current geopolitical processes in the world and all the crisis hotspots whose outcome we do not yet know,” Despotović stressed.

The book was published by the Archives of Vojvodina together with the University of Banja Luka. Professor Oleg Soldat and Director of the Archives of Vojvodina Nebojša Kuzmanović also spoke about the book.
