PREPARATION OF PROJECT FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF ROAD TO NOVI ZEJTINLIK TO BEGIN TOMORROW

SOKOLAC, APRIL 24 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said that he will focus special attention on the project to reconstruct the street leading to the Serbian Military Cemetery Novi Zejtinlik in Sokolac and that starting tomorrow, he and his associates will begin preparing for the work.

“It is not cheap or simple, and it will cost at least BAM one million, but we can no longer endure the shame of difficult access to the site where 1,000 soldiers, who gave their lives for Republika Srpska, rest,” Dodik told reporters in Sokolac after a meeting with the mayors of Sokolac and Rogatica.

Dodik says that in the coming days, necessary support will be provided for projects in Sokolac and Rogatica, adding that the decisions made by the mayor of Sokolac, Strahinja Bašević, and his team are the best for the local community.

"This is about a multifunctional building that will house various facilities and become the epicenter of gatherings. We will finance this, and we will work to ensure a visible support from Republika Srpska for this place, which made a significant contribution to the creation and strengthening of Srpska," emphasized Dodik.

Recalling that the institutions of Republika Srpska were present in Sokolac in the past, Dodik says that they want to address the accumulated problems of this local community.

Dodik emphasized that Sokolac and Rogatica have his full support.

Regarding Rogatica, Dodik announced support for projects such as the construction of a settlement for young married couples worth BAM 530,000, resolving the water supply, sewage, and access bridge issues, which will be supported by the President's Office, as well as the project for building a kindergarten.

Dodik also said that a response will be provided later regarding the request for the construction of a sports hall in Rogatica.

The meeting between President Dodik and the mayors of Sokolac and Rogatica, Strahinja Bašević and Ninoslav Prelić, respectively, was also attended by the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education, Željko Budimir.
