POZZO: PMP FOUNDRY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT INVESTMENT WE HAVE MADE

LAKTAŠI, SEPTEMBER 26 /SRNA/ - The owner and director of the Italian company PMP Luigino Pozzo said that the PMP Foundry in Laktaši is the most important investment they have made in their history, worth 35 million Euros.

Pozzo emphasized that once completed, the entire production facility could reach investments of 100 million Euros, and that 100 people would be employed in the first phase, with prospects for 500 in total.

He emphasized that they used the best technologies available on the market and will continue to invest in that direction.

At the opening of the foundry, he said that this moment will remain recorded in the company's history, as well as in the industry of this region.

"This factory was a major goal, a dream that we managed to turn into reality in record time," Pozzo said.

He recalled that the decision was made in May 2023, when the then-Prime Minister Radovan Višković and a delegation visited Italy, during which several important agreements were signed, including the one concerning the foundry.

Pozzo said this is a historic step that was turned into reality in just two years, expressing pride that they managed to implement such an ambitious project and develop top-notch technology.

"With the new challenges ahead, where we will increasingly be called to compete with new products and technologies, this new facility will enable us to produce everything from raw materials to finished products - making it a unique site in Europe," Pozzo emphasized.

He thanked all those who initiated cooperation and placed their trust in them, particularly Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, the Government of Republika Srpska, and the Laktaši City Administration.

The decision to invest in Republika Srpska, he said, was not accidental, noting that it is a country they know well, where they have been building business and friendly relations for more than 20 years, and where they have always found institutions ready to listen and offer support.

"This is a country that has always given us loyal and unconditional support," Pozzo emphasized, adding that his experiences in this region have been very positive, as he has always encountered an administration willing to listen and encourage further investment.

He said this means stability and a future for the people here, adding that the investment is important as it consolidates the supply chain in Europe.

"None of this would have been possible without an excellent team. I was fortunate to work with outstanding people," Pozzo said, thanking the partners present at today's opening of the foundry.

He emphasized that the real challenge begins now - to revive a new industrial story that will go hand in hand with the extraordinary one already developed at PMP Jelšingrad in Gradiška.

"We believe that the future of European industry runs through this region and through cooperation," Pozzo said.
