FOČA, MAY 10 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Interior Minister Željko Budimir emphasized that there must be no giving in and no undermining of the political position of the Serb people in BiH.
Speaking at the commemoration marking the anniversary of the formation of the Ninth Detachment of the Special Police Brigade in Foča, Budimir said that the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit of the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska carries on the legacy of the Special Police Brigade.
“But we remember that those people fought for Republika Srpska during the war, and that we, who hold the highest state offices, must not give in or undermine the political position of the Serb people in BiH,” Željko Budimir told reporters.
He also pointed out that the Special Police Brigade, together with the Army of Republika Srpska, constituted the armed forces during the Defensive-Patriotic War.
“Our task is to remember those people and to support the families of those killed, as well as war veterans with disabilities. The ministry is doing that and will continue to do so,” Budimir said.
He added that the Foča detachment of the Special Police Brigade was one of the strongest units.
