TREBINJE, MARCH 24 /SRNA/ - The Energy Summit in Trebinje /SET/ is the most authoritative gathering in the field of energy, and the positions that will be presented during the three-day event on the establishment of an electricity exchange in BiH and its prospects will be of great importance for representatives of Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, /Electric Power Industry of Republika Srpska/, the company's director general Luka Petrović told SRNA.

"For us at Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, it will be very important to hear experiences regarding the functioning of electricity exchanges in the region, as well as the integration of new renewable energy facilities, their connection to the transmission grid, and the issue of balancing energy in the context of the expansion of renewable energy sources," Petrović said.

Petrović said that seven panels on key topics will be held during the Summit, which opens tomorrow.

He added that over the past six years, experts, decision-makers, the academic community, financiers, and project contractors have confirmed that SET is the most authoritative event in the energy sector.

Petrović said he is pleased that the most important figures in the energy sector are gathering in one place.

"The exchange of opinions and experiences enables better communication and contributes to the stabilization of the energy sector in the Western Balkans," Petrović said.

He believes that concrete conclusions should be adopted at the Energy Summit and submitted to the relevant institutions and decision-makers.

"All of this is aimed at ensuring that, in line with upcoming challenges in the energy sector, the right decisions and processes are created so that the transition is safe for both citizens and the economy of Republika Srpska," Petrović said.

The Summit, which will begin tomorrow under the slogan "Artificial intelligence drives and shapes the energy future of the region," will gather 700 participants.

This year’s Energy Summit in Trebinje is being held with the support of the Government of Republika Srpska, the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske, the City of Trebinje, and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers.
