MOSCOW, JUNE 9 /SRNA/ - Member of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, Ranka Perić Romić, stated that during today’s meeting of the Commission for Cooperation between the Republika Srpska National Assembly and the State Duma of the Russian Federation in Moscow, discussions were held about the possibility of increasing student exchange and implementing joint master's programs.
"During the meeting, there was also talk about including certain cultural events in the annual cooperation program between the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska and the Russian Embassy," Romić told SRNA.
She stated that the meeting also discussed mutual relations concerning international cases and issues, economic cooperation, and certain legislative and legal frameworks within which further economic cooperation and various economic projects can be achieved.
"We also discussed the development of humanitarian activities, including the advancement of scientific work, cooperation with universities, the development and study of the Russian language, and the promotion of Russian culture in Republika Srpska and Serbian culture in Russia," she emphasized.
Romić said that this was the first working meeting following the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Russian Duma and the Republika Srpska National Assembly.
Milica Lovrić, a member of the Republika Srpska National Assembly, told SRNA that this meeting symbolizes a structurally grounded cooperation between Republika Srpska and the Russian Duma.
“In the context of current global challenges, this is an excellent platform for deepening political dialogue, a strategy focused on the stability of Republika Srpska in the Western Balkans, and especially on protecting the constitutional position of Republika Srpska,” emphasized Lovrić.
She added that this cooperation represents a foundation for further institutional activities of Republika Srpska on the international stage.
“This especially concerns the truth about events from our recent past, which has been called into question, such as the British initiative in the UN Security Council,” emphasized Lovrić.
She said that this cooperation is the crown of the friendship between the Serbian and Russian peoples, noting that the Commission should be a bearer of concrete activities in education, science, culture, healthcare, and the economy concerning the peoples of Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation.
Lovrić said that the openness of the State Duma to cooperation enables doctors from Republika Srpska to go to Russia and vice versa.
