BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 3 /SRNA/ – The Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Banja Luka Ranka Perić-Romić expressed her belief that the international political science conference marking the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, opened today in Banja Luka, will demonstrate that foreign interventionism represents the fundamental obstacle to maintaining normal relations in BiH.
She emphasized that Republika Srpska is a factor of stability in BiH, while the greatest obstacle to maintaining and implementing the Dayton Agreement is the High Representative and all those who interfere in the internal affairs of BiH.
"The Dayton Peace Agreement enabled peace, stability, prosperity, and economic development for both Republika Srpska and FBiH. Everything that has happened in the 30 years since its signing is the result of the actions of those who unlawfully and illegitimately interfere in BiH's internal affairs," Romić told reporters before the start of the conference.
She noted that the conference will feature a comprehensive scientific study on the development of post-Dayton BiH and highlighted its importance, as it was conducted by Russia, which was not directly involved in the BiH situation and therefore able to provide the most objective assessment.
"Every research effort has its weight if its results can be applied to future political processes. When you study a particular topic from a scientific standpoint and present the results to political actors, they can use them to determine the direction of their future actions," Romić explained.
The Vice Dean for Scientific Research and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka Vlade Simović said that the conference will present an extensive study conducted by Russian researchers, scientists, and professors, examining the state of society in BiH from all perspectives, 30 years after the signing of the Dayton Agreement.
He added that the Faculty of Political Sciences in Banja Luka has been cooperating with Russian universities and researchers for several years.
"To date, we have already signed six cooperation agreements, and this research represents a further deepening of our scientific and educational collaboration," Simović said.
The conference is organized by the Faculty of Political Sciences of the University of Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Foundation within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
