OFFICIAL START OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROUNDABOUT NEAR THE "AUDI CENTER"

BANJA LUKA, December 23 /SRNA/ - The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić, Minister of Transport and Communications Zoran Stevanović, and Director of "Putevi Republike Srpske" Miroslav Janković today officially marked the start of construction of a roundabout near the "Audi Center" in the Borik neighbourhood of Banja Luka, which is expected to improve traffic flow and increase road safety in this part of the city.

The official start of works was also attended by the Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić, representatives of the City of Banja Luka, as well as numerous citizens.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications had previously undertaken the necessary activities and removed technical and administrative obstacles that had slowed down the implementation of the project. The estimated value of the roundabout construction is 2.48 million BAM.

The project, whose construction is being financed by Putevi Republike Srpske, had been delayed due to the need to harmonise certain technical solutions.

The Agreement on the joint implementation of the project "Reconstruction of the intersection at the junction of main road MI-108 and Vojvoda Živojin Mišić Boulevard in Banja Luka" was signed on April 29 last year between "Putevi Republike Srpske" and the City of Banja Luka, followed by an annex specifying the obligations of both parties.

With all conditions now fulfilled, the groundwork has been laid for the start of construction works, which will significantly improve traffic safety at one of the busiest intersections in Banja Luka.
