BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 22 /SRNA/ – The Bosniak People Caucus in the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska did not reach a consensus on initiating the mechanism for the protection of vital national interests regarding the decision on the election of the new Republika Srpska Government, said the Chair of the Caucus Alija Tabaković.
Tabaković stated that deputy Dževad Mahmutović abstained, four deputies voted in favour of initiating the veto mechanism, while three deputies from Serb parties voted against it.
He added that one of the deputies requested that the Constitutional Court of BiH be addressed to assess the constitutionality of the Republika Srpska acting president's authority in relation to the appointment of the prime minister-designate, as well as the Republika Srpska Government.
