ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 22 /SRNA/ – A new building of the Student Dormitory in Istočno Sarajevo, built with an investment of BAM 9.3 million, officially opened today.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed together by the Director of the Dormitory Aleksandar Bjelica, President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Savo Minić, and Minister of Science, Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republika Srpska Siniša Karan.

The opening ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Istočno Sarajevo Ljubiša Ćosić, along with the heads of the city municipalities.

The new dormitory is located on Stefan Nemanja Street, adjacent to the buildings of the University Rectorate and the Academy of Music.

The facility has a capacity of 224 beds, of which 107 have already been filled.

The building includes 90 rooms, a kitchen, canteen, reading room, laundry, and a student club, as well as office space for the administration of the Lukavica Student Center.

A total of BAM 9,330,238 was invested in the new building, of which BAM 1,700,000 for furnishing.
