NEŠIĆ: HELEZ'S INCITEMENT OF HATRED MUST BE PUNISHED

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - DNS President Nenad Nešić called on the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Republika Srpska Public Prosecutor's Office to respond and punish the incitement of religious and national hatred, as well as calls for the alteration of the constitutional order, which Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers Zukan Helez is engaging in through his statements.

"Statements such as Helez's that `Republika Srpska should be abolished,` which he called an `evil and genocidal para-state entity,` serve as a warning of what would happen to us if there were no Republika Srpska. We would end up in bundles, just like the 157,000 Sarajevo Serbs," Nešić said.

He stressed that Republika Srpska was created out of the Serb people’s need to remain masters in their own homeland, and that Srpska was not created by any international community, but by the Serb people, and will exist as long as the people do.

"Helez's statements undermine BiH, not Republika Srpska. They strengthen it because they strengthen our love and loyalty to Republika Srpska," Nešić said.

Nešić said that with this statement Helez had committed a criminal offense under the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska, for which a prison sentence of three to 15 years is prescribed, DNS said in a statement.

"Republika Srpska is a permanent entity and will exist as long as the Serb people do. It does not depend on Zukan Helez and those like him, but on those who created it so that they could remain masters in their own homeland and preserve their bare lives," Nešić said.
