NEŠIĆ CALLS FOR PROSECUTION OF PERPETRATORS WHO BURNED REPUBLIKA SRPSKA FLAG

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ – DNS President Nenad Nešić said those who burned the Republika Srpska flag while shouting "Allahu Akbar" should be swiftly identified and prosecuted, arguing that their actions constitute the criminal offense of inciting national hatred.

Nešić stressed that such acts must not go unpunished, according to a statement issued by the DNS.

"It is incomprehensible that, 30 years after the war, the war is still raging in some people's minds. Burning someone else's flag while shouting wartime slogans means that those responsible still see the Serb people and Republika Srpska as enemies. That is why it is important to protect our Republika Srpska, because without it, there is no future for us," Nešić said.

A video circulating on social media appears to show a group of individuals removing the Republika Srpska flag from a flagpole and then setting it on fire while shouting "Allahu Akbar" and using profanity.

According to media reports from the Federation of BiH, the flag had been flying on a flagpole erected along the Inter-Entity Boundary Line between Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
