GRADIŠKA, JULY 13 /SRNA/ - Residents of the Gradiška settlement of Laminci have launched a fundraising campaign to help rebuild the home of their neighbour, Aziz Pećanin, whose roof and an outbuilding were destroyed in a fire that spread from the auxiliary building.
Pećanin said that a large number of tools, including a lawn mower, a grass trimmer and a chainsaw, were destroyed in the outbuilding, and the roof of the house was destroyed.
"Significant damage has been caused because everything on the ground floor where we live has been soaked with water used to extinguish the fire," Pećanin said.
He noted that the fire was noticed yesterday by a neighbour, who helped his wife and six-year-old daughter get out of the house.
He believes that the fire was caused by a drill that he had plugged into a power supply in the auxiliary building to charge.
He thanked his neighbours and the compassionate people who have already stepped in to help or promised to assist him in rebuilding the house.
Milovan Marković, one of the initiators of the campaign, said that they are good neighbours who need help rebuilding their home, and called on everyone who is able to join the campaign and help this family.
Citizens who wish to help with the reconstruction of the Pećanin family’s house can contact Aziz at the phone number 066/265-790.
