BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 8 /SRNA/ - President Milorad Dodik said Michael Murphy had used social media to call for his physical removal and had shown how detached from reality he was after failing to erase the Christian and Orthodox identity of the Serb people.
"I am not responding because of him, but because of them. Michael Murphy, the former US ambassador to BiH, publicly wrote that the EU 'should have driven a hawthorn stake through my heart' when it had the chance. That is not a metaphor. That is not a figure of speech. It is a call for the physical removal of a politician," Dodik said.
He explained that a hawthorn stake was not an abstraction, but something used to kill a person and then leave the body for people to see.
"Murphy wrote that publicly, on a platform accessible to the entire world," Dodik said.
He said this was not "belated analysis", but a call for an increasingly weak EU to continue the policy devised by Murphy and Christian Schmidt.
"One imposed the Election Law 15 times, while the other is now publicly calculating how an opportunity was missed to have someone killed in time. For two years they complained. For two years they fabricated, planted things, prosecuted and threatened. And here they are, still complaining. Corrupt elites prepared to do anything, and Murphy belongs to them," Dodik said.
He added that Murphy was showing more than hatred towards the Serb people, saying he was also showing contempt for his own American people and belittling the electoral will and good intentions of Americans.
Dodik said Murphy was disregarding the fact that the abandonment of pressure and sanctions policies in BiH had not been devised independently by an individual, but reflected a policy chosen democratically by the American people instead of the one represented by what he called this instigator of murder, Michael Murphy.
"Donald Trump did not launch something new. He restored common sense. He abandoned the concept of nation-building and interference in the affairs of other countries. Murphy is an apologist for that concept," Dodik posted on X.
According to Dodik, this was the clearest evidence of how detached from reality Murphy was.
"Calling me a Christian nationalist as though that were an insult. I am a Christian. I am Orthodox. I am a Serb. And I am my own man, on my own land. That claim reveals all the rage over what he failed to achieve: erasing the Christian and Orthodox identity of the Serb people. Taking it away from them," Dodik said.
He said this was why they had wanted to remove him - not because he was one man leading a people, but because he was one of a million Serbs who had not allowed and would not allow themselves to be anything other than Serbs and Orthodox Christians.
"And the project of an invented 'Bosnian nation' had exactly that goal. And this mercenary admitted it. Himself. Publicly. So that this does not remain merely a response to the ramblings of a once-important mercenary serving anti-Serb interests," Dodik said.
Dodik said the Serb people in Republika Srpska had in recent years proved themselves worthy of the heroes of Kosovo, Cer and Kajmakčalan.
"There is no pressure under which we are prepared to give up who we are. There is no sacrifice we will not make for final victory. You cannot defeat us. And you could not have it easier living alongside us. We want nothing of yours - but we will not give up what is ours. To hell with Murphy and all those like him," Dodik concluded.
