BANJA LUKA, JULY 23 /SRNA/ – A commemoration marking the Day of Remembrance for Serbs killed and displaced during the Croatian military and police operation "Storm" will be held in Mrkonjić Grad on August 4, President Milorad Dodik said following today's meeting of the Organising Committee.

Dodik said the event is a republic-level commemoration jointly organised by the governments of Republika Srpska and Serbia and will begin at 8:00 p.m.

He invited everyone to attend the event in Mrkonjić Grad, noting that the entire leadership of Srpska, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his team, and His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia will be present.

"The gathering means that we remember and that we want to pass on to future generations the truth about the pogrom and ethnic cleansing of Serbs from Republika Srpska Krajina and the municipalities of western Krajina, adding that Mrkonjić Grad itself had also been ethnically cleansed of Serbs at that time," Dodik said at the press conference.

He called on all local communities to organise transportation for those wishing to attend the commemoration.
