EAST SARAJEVO, MARCH 28 /SRNA/ - The scientific conference Jahorina Business Forum, with the topic "Industry 4.0 - Challenges in Management, Digital Trends and the Use of Artificial Intelligence," was officially opened today on Mount Jahorina.

It brings together more than 130 distinguished scientists who will present over 70 papers.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of East Sarajevo Mladen Rebić told reporters that the papers are divided into four sessions, which will cover the impact of "Industry 4.0" on all sectors of the economy.

"We can boast of authors from 12 countries. I must highlight authors from America, Japan, Portugal, Germany, Croatia, Albania and all the countries in the region," Rebić said.

The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics at the University of East Sarajevo Srđan Kujundžić has said that this is the 14th International Conference. This year's topic, "Industry 4.0," or the Fourth Technological Revolution, is more than significant as it changes lives, and everyone feels its impact daily.

He said that the conference would discuss "Industry 4.0," challenges in management, digital trends, and the use of artificial intelligence.

"We will particularly focus on the challenges brought by artificial intelligence, such as data privacy protection, how to educate people for jobs that are only now emerging, and how to be innovative while remaining responsible," Kujundžić said.

He added that the papers would be published in a collection that would be available to the public.

The Director of the Research and Development Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia Dubravko Ćulibrk will speak at the conference about the application of artificial intelligence in medicine.

He added that, according to global research, medical image analysis is the first segment to undergo the most automation.

"Our project focuses on mammography and assisting radiologists in identifying potential issues on scans more quickly and easily, which speeds up access to therapy. Additionally, significant work is being done on more efficient drug discovery in medicine, where completely different models are applied, but still within the field of artificial intelligence. These large language technologies greatly aid research, but there are specific challenges, and we strive to ensure they function properly," Ćulibrk said.

The conference, which concludes tomorrow, significantly contributes to the advancement of scientific and academic thought. It presents an opportunity to showcase new ideas and projects focused on the development of the economy and tourism in Republika Srpska, BiH, and the surrounding region.
