BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 2 /SRNA/ – The Minister for Economy and Entrepreneurship of Republika Srpska Vojin Mitrović said that the Government of Srpska and his ministry are determined to further strengthen and support women’s entrepreneurship in the entity.

Mitrović noted that there are 12,400 businesses in Srpska owned or co-owned by women, making up 28 percent of all entrepreneurs, and together employing around 30,000 workers – about 15 percent of the total workforce.

"These figures show the importance of women and how vital it is for them to be engaged in all areas of activity, whether as owners or co-owners of businesses," Mitrović said while attending the opening of the Eighth Conference and the Fourth Women’s Entrepreneurship Fair in Republika Srpska.

He stressed that the ministry has already supported such events and recognizes the significance of women entrepreneurs for the economy.

Mitrović also pointed out that a strategy for the development of women’s entrepreneurship for the period 2025–2031 has been adopted, along with an action plan for its implementation.

"Women entrepreneurs need support not only financially, but also in terms of education and promotion," Mitrović told reporters in Banja Luka.

Speaking about incentives, he underlined that women entrepreneurs are active participants. Of the total number of businesses that have received incentives, around 24 percent are in women’s entrepreneurship.

"The amount paid for these purposes was about BAM 2.9 million, or 13 percent of the total incentives," Mitrović said.
