MISSING AND ABUSED CHILDREN CENTRE OFFICE IN ZVORNIK NEXT YEAR

ZVORNIK, AUGUST 6 /SRNA/ – Zvornik Mayor Bojan Ivanović and the Director of the Missing and Abused Children Centre, Igor Jurić, agreed today that the Centre will open an office in Zvornik at the beginning of next year, the Zvornik City Administration announced.

With the opening of the office, Zvornik will become the first city in Republika Srpska to implement this important project, aimed at improving the safety of children and young people, providing support to families, and preventing various forms of violence against children.

Ivanović said the city would provide full support to the work of the Centre because Zvornik wants children to have a safer environment, as well as access to assistance and support in combating all forms of violence.

"This is an important step toward creating better conditions for the upbringing of our youngest fellow citizens and building a society in which every child is protected and supported," Ivanović said.

The office will ensure that children and parents from the Zvornik area and the broader region have access to professional assistance and support, particularly in cases involving peer violence, digital violence, and other forms of threats to the rights and safety of children.

Jurić stressed the Center's Zvornik office would begin operating at full capacity at the start of the second semester of the next school year, adding that it would provide support to children, young people, and society in general through preventive activities, so that there would be no need to deal with the consequences later.

Jurić thanked the mayor for his support.

The project will be implemented with the support of the City of Zvornik. As announced, the Government of Serbia will also support the operation of the office, while all services will be provided free of charge to every child.
