BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 10 /SRNA/ - Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić stated that the opposition's request for a budget rebalance following the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH on the financing of political parties is nothing more than an attempt to score political points, stressing that the decision represents only a temporary measure.

"I am familiar with the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH. This is a temporary measure. It was adopted with an explanation. The temporary measure orders that financing continue in the manner that was applied before the adoption of the disputed decision, and the final ruling on that request is yet to come," Minić told reporters in Banja Luka.

He emphasized that he contacted the Ministry of Finance of Republika Srpska and that there will be no issues regarding the continued disbursement of funds to political parties.

"The moment the decision was published, political propaganda began," Minić added.

On May 21, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska adopted, under an urgent procedure, the Law on the Financing of Political Organizations, which stipulates that these organizations are financed, among other sources, from membership fees, voluntary contributions from legal and natural persons, and publishing activities.

The truncated Constitutional Court of BiH, acting upon the appeal filed by SDS official Darko Babalj, adopted a temporary measure suspending the application of the aforementioned law.
