BANJA LUKA, MAY 5 /SRNA/ – The Government and other institutions of Republika Srpska fully support successful athletes and sports clubs, Prime Minister Savo Minić has stated.

"We also support those who act as ambassadors of Republika Srpska, and that will certainly include Football Club Borac through international competitions," Minić told reporters in Banja Luka today after a meeting of the Organizing Committee marking the club's centennial.

Minić congratulated the players and coaching staff of FC Borac on their recent Bosnian championship title.

FC Borac Vice President Bogoljub Zeljković thanked President Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Minić, and Republika Srpska Finance Minister Zora Vidović for their consistent support over the past decade.

"Borac would not be where it is today without the support of Republika Srpska institutions. I congratulate the coach, players and staff on winning the title and qualifying for European competitions," said Zeljković, also a member of the Organizing Committee.

He announced that a ceremonial academy will be held on May 18, while the club's new team will be presented on July 4 at Krajina Square ahead of the new season.

Zeljković added that a concert will also be organized, along with a film about Borac's 100-year history in August and a monograph dedicated to the club.

FC Borac President Zvjezdan Misimović said the club will celebrate the Bosnian championship title at a home match against FC Željezničar, thanking Republika Srpska institutions for their support.

The founding assembly of the Workers' Sports Club Borac was held on July 4, 1926, making it one of the oldest clubs in BiH.
