BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has said today in Banja Luka that Srpska has strong capacities to improve trade and will soon become a highly desirable partner.
Minić states that Republika Srpska’s export-to-import coverage ratio stands at 74 percent, which is a good indicator.
He adds that around 37,000 people are employed in the trade sector, which, along with manufacturing, contributes the most to Republika Srpska’s GDP, nearly 12 percent.
"Trade does not only mean buying finished products, but also raw materials," Minić told the press in Banja Luka before the opening of the First Regional Trade Summit.
He has added that this event allows Republika Srpska to further connect with regional trade partners, as it has strong capacities.
"Republika Srpska is not standing still and we are not sitting idly by. While we are hosting this summit in Banja Luka, President Milorad Dodik is visiting Belarus, which we already have good cooperation with," Minić said.
He has noted that this summit is a very important regional event, institutionally supported and attended by numerous guests from across the region.
"I would have liked to see representatives from the Federation of BiH here as well, because we are connected in many ways. Srpska will soon become a partner everyone will want to talk to," Minić emphasized.
The two-day summit brings together leading representatives of retail chains, chambers of commerce, and institutions of the region, creating a space for open dialogue and cooperation.
Throughout the summit, participants will attend a rich programme featuring panels, lectures, and B2B meetings.
The first day focuses on regional cooperation and inspiring stories by trade leaders, while the second day is dedicated to the future of retail, digital transformation, and preparations for Expo 2027.
