MINIĆ: SRPSKA HAS CAPACITY TO HOST WORLD-CLASS SPORTING COMPETITIONS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ – The World Cup and the Balkan Open Championship in jiu-jitsu were officially opened in Banja Luka today in the presence of Republika Srpska Prime Miister Savo Minić, bringing together more than 1,000 athletes from 24 countries.

Minić says Republika Srpska has the capacity to organise such competitions at the world level.

"This is a sport that strengthens character, self-discipline and sportsmanship among young people. Holding events like this will encourage our young people to take up marshal arts and lead a healthy lifestyle," Minić emphasized.

The prime minister of Republika Srpska was presented with a plaque in recognition of his outstanding support and contribution to the organisation of the 21st Balkan Open Championship and the World Cup.

Head of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Republika Srpska Nebojša Babić said that the competitions at Banja Luka's Borik Sports Hall will continue until Sunday, September 13.

"This is a spectacular event, and sports fans have plenty to see," Babić emphasized.
