BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 8 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić states that the Central Memorial in Banja Luka represents a monument to heroes from all brigades and units, to all those who defended the Serb people in Republika Srpska Krajina and in any place where Serbs were endangered.
"This Central Memorial was built on pain and sorrow, but also on pride and dignity, to express the utmost respect and to bow deeply before our heroes who gave their lives for Republika Srpska," Minić emphasized in his address at the unveiling of the Central Memorial in Banja Luka.
He stressed that many fathers, brothers, children, and sons gave their lives for Republika Srpska and the freedom enjoyed today, emphasizing that this must never be forgotten.
"Their names are not merely engraved and written as part of the symbolic architectural composition; they are something that illuminates our hearth and creates a sincere fraternal obligation never to forget that no freedom of the Serb people came by chance or on its own, but through the greatest sacrifices of the best Serb sons," Minić said.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska remembers and will continue to remember its best sons, who were ready when most needed to defend Republika Srpska, the innocent, families, and all who were endangered.
"Remembering fallen soldiers is our sacred temple, and within it your bright and covenant sacrifice will never be dead," Minić concluded.
Today in Banja Luka, on the occasion of January 9, Republika Srpska Day, the Central Memorial was unveiled and consecrated in honour of a total of 25,830 soldiers who fell in the Defensive-Patriotic War of Republika Srpska.
