MINIĆ: REPUBLIKA SRPSKA DEMONSTRATES STRENGTH AND IMPORTANT VOICE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

BANJA LUKA, MAY 28 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has stressed today that Republika Srpska is politically strong and has become a recognized interlocutor in international relations, describing this as invaluable.

"Republika Srpska, through its institutional capacity and despite attacks on Milorad Dodik, whom the people elected president of the Republic, has shown how difficult it is to pursue state-building policies alongside a foreign official who was never appointed", Minić said in his closing address titled "The Road Ahead" at the European Summit on Economy and Security.

He stressed that Republika Srpska demonstrated institutional strength regardless of pressures and noted the importance of overcoming some past difficulties in relations with the United States.

"We want quality relations with both the United States and Russia. That is why we constantly repeat that the decisions of an individual in BiH who was not elected are disastrous and must never happen again. As a lawyer, I know international law and understand that it is impossible for an individual, based on self-assumed powers and contrary to the Dayton Agreement and the BiH parliament, to impose changes to the Criminal Code of BiH", Minić added.

He stated that Republika Srpska is a partner ready to act in international relations as a factor committed to combating terrorism and all forms of crime.

"It is very important that Republika Srpska's institutions are functioning. Republika Srpska is stable and wants to be a reliable partner to everyone", Minić said.
