MINIĆ: PROVIDE HIGHER SALARIES TO KEEP MEDICAL WORKERS IN REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 25 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić has said today in Bijeljina that the work of medical professionals must be properly valued and everything must be done to provide them with better working conditions and higher salaries in order to keep them in Republika Srpska.

Minić stressed that this would complete the overall effort and that the Government would continue working toward this goal.

"I told medical workers that the Government is investing as much as possible when it comes to providing equipment and resources for their work, after which we will also have to focus on them," Minić told the press during a visit to Sveti Vračevi Hospital.

Minić, who attended the ceremony marking the launch of a new CT scanner at the healthcare facility, says he is pleased whenever dedicated medical professionals in Republika Srpska receive better equipment.

"I am glad to see that we will be in a position to save someone’s life, whether through preventive or emergency care, and to provide better healthcare in Republika Srpska," Minić said.

He recalled that during his previous visit, Hospital Director Mikajlo Lazić told him that an emergency department and additional hospital capacity were urgently required, after which the Government allocated BAM 125 million.

"That will not be the end of it. Today we discussed accelerating the completion of the conceptual design so that it can be completed within the next ten days or so. We will engage experts who worked on hospitals in Trebinje, Istočno Sarajevo and Prijedor, so that it is carried out in accordance with professional and scientific standards and at an exceptionally high level. Bijeljina deserves that," Minić said.

He noted that Republika Srpska Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Social Welfare Alen Šeranić, Minister of Labour, War Veterans and Disabled Persons Protection Radan Ostojić, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Anđelka Kuzmić were also in Bijeljina today.

"Semberija deserves greater and faster development. When it comes to healthcare, this is something of the utmost importance to us, but today we will also discuss irrigation and everything else required to enable all citizens of Republika Srpska, especially here in Semberija, to have a better and higher-quality life," Minić added.
