BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said tonight that Serbs are still fighting a battle today, one to preserve their identity.

Speaking at the "Days of Serbian Culture in Hungary" event at the Republika Srpska Government headquarters in Banja Luka, Minić said Republika Srpska must be economically strong, institutionally stable and internationally recognized, and demonstrate through all its activities that it will continue to look after its people.

He said the Serb people had never been on the wrong side of history or inflicted harm on others, adding that it was vital for Serbs to preserve their unity wherever they live.

"The Serbian Orthodox Church is what binds us together more than anything else, in every sense of the word," Minić stressed.

The Republika Srpska prime minister said Serbs, wherever they live - and many are scattered around the world - represent Serbian identity.

He noted that in contemporary society there are cultures and traditions that uphold faith and everything associated with it, while migration in Europe has become a way and condition of life that is not safe and represents a form of revolution.

"We must find even more time to pass on to young people knowledge about the Serbian Orthodox Monastery of Grabovac, one of the oldest Serbian holy sites in Hungary," Minić concluded.
