ŠAMAC, JULY 3 /SRNA/ - Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić opened today a basketball court at the “Nikola Tesla” Secondary School Center in Šamac, worth BAM 47,000, with funds donated by the Prime Minister’s Office.

"We must always take care of the youngest, not only by telling them something, but also by doing something for them. I am very happy that this has been realized," Minić told reporters.

He noted that last year another modern multi-purpose playground was built, funded by the Government of Republika Srpska with BAM 137,000.

"We have children, we have interest. They now have something nice to go outside and spend time on, instead of being on their phones," Minić said, adding that competitions can now be organized there.

The director of the "Nikola Tesla" Secondary School Center, Smilja Nišić, thanked Prime Minister Minić, noting that at his initiative, a multifunctional sports field was built last school year, which required both asphalt and a rubberized surface.

"On that sportsground, our students can play volleyball, football, and handball. Today we have received another court, a basketball court, primarily thanks to Minić. Accordingly, from today all students of our school will be able to have more modern and higher-quality classes," Nišić said.

In addition to students of the Secondary School Center, the facilities can also be used by primary school pupils, children for training, and anyone interested in recreation.

"Better and better conditions are being created for attending classes at our school, primarily physical education. The goal is for our children to grow up healthy," Nišić said.
