MINIĆ: INITIAL AGREEMENT REACHED ON COOPERATION INVOLVING ORAO COMPANY

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said that during his visit to Russia he met representatives of several companies and that preliminary agreement had been reached to move forward with cooperation involving the Bijeljina-based company Orao.

"We will make use of everything we presented about 10 days ago, namely the procurement of new technology from Mexico and India for the overhaul of turbojet engines that can power propeller-driven aircraft", Minić said after arriving at Banja Luka Airport from Moscow.

He added that Republika Srpska had a solid basis for this type of cooperation, as well as for talks on increasing export quotas for products from Srpska.

"I am pleased that this cooperation, and the broader model of economic cooperation, will soon begin to show that pressure from Brussels and sanctions are easing, and that there will be a significant expansion of cooperation between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation", Minić said.

He stressed that during his stay in Moscow he saw clear respect for the institutions of Republika Srpska.

Minić said Russia's strength gave Republika Srpska room to put forward certain requests, given that Russia is one of the guarantors of the Dayton Peace Accords.

He said it was evident that the agreement had been eroded and that those who guaranteed it were therefore being compelled to take certain steps.

"This is one of the best ways to secure the status of Republika Srpska and, consequently, of BiH as well", Minić said.

He described the visit, which he made together with President Milorad Dodik, as one of the most productive he had taken part in.
