VIŠEGRAD, JULY 24 / SRNA/ - The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić stated today in Višegrad that the waiting list for enrolling children in kindergarten in this town, which currently has about 70 children on it, will be eliminated after the construction of a new annex to the Neven Public Institution for Preschool Upbringing and Education, for which the Government of Republika Srpska has provided BAM one million.

Following his visit to the Neven kindergarten, Minić pointed out that the public procurement for the realization of this project has already been published, and that, in addition to the construction of two new rooms, the yard will also be landscaped and the necessary equipment will be procured.

"It will not just be two additional rooms, but a complete landscaping of the yard and procurement of equipment. This will be one of the most beautiful and modern kindergartens, and the most important thing is that the waiting list will be eliminated and all children will be provided with a place," Minić told reporters.

He reminded that during his previous visit to Višegrad, he was made aware of the problem regarding the lack of capacity in the kindergarten, and emphasized that the Government of Republika Srpska reacted quickly.

"When an agreement is respected, then we also have realization. I am glad that in just a few months we have reached the point of announcing the public procurement. The Government will always support such significant projects, because nothing is more important than a child's smile," said Minić.

The Director of the Neven Public Institution Danka Mitrović said that the donation from the Government of Srpska of BAM one million is of exceptional importance because it will solve the institution's biggest problem – the long waiting list.

"By adding new premises for two preschool educational groups, we will practically eliminate the waiting list, which will make everyday life easier for numerous families," stated Mitrović.

She thanked the Government of Republika Srpska, the Prime Minister, and the local administration for their support, emphasizing that the municipality is the most important partner in the functioning of this institution.

The Mayor of the Višegrad municipality Mladen Đurević said that the expansion of the kindergarten is one of the most significant projects for this local community, and reminded that the Government of Republika Srpska has approved funds for several other infrastructural projects as well.

According to him, funds have been secured for the start of the construction of a road in the Glavica neighborhood, the reconstruction of the gymnasium at the Vuk Karadžić Elementary School, and a project for a residential building for young married couples has also been completed, which is currently awaiting the necessary approvals for a building permit.
