MINIĆ: ECONOMIC ACTIVITY AND EMPLOYMENT BOTH GROWING IN SRPSKA

MRKONJIĆ GRAD, AUGUST 31 /SRNA/ – An Entrepreneurs Evening was held in Mrkonjić Grad this evening, attended by Republika Srpska officials, entrepreneurs and mayors of the municipalities of Šipovo, Ribnik and Jezero.

Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić told the press that the aim of the gathering was to hear directly from entrepreneurs about measures the Government could introduce, the current problems the economy in Srpska is facing, as well as issues the sectors are facing.

“When it comes to wood processing, I am familiar with the issues, including the fact that exports have declined to some extent, not because our capacities have been reduced, but because we have had difficulties accessing markets that have been disrupted by the Middle East conflict,” Minić said.

According to him, the situation regarding energy sources is also being monitored, particularly oil, recalling that the decision to subsidize oil by 10 pfenings per liter remains in force.

“We also discussed with our entrepreneurs certain measures adopted by the Republika Srpska Government concerning income tax, certain duties and fees, as well as everything that should be done both in Srpska and here in Mrkonjić Grad,” Minić said.

Minić stressed that large companies operate in Mrkonjić Grad and employ a significant number of workers.

Minić expressed satisfaction with the increase in economic activity in Srpska, noting that the number of employed persons has increased by 1,390 compared with last year.

“We are a Government of continuity; we will not stop. Republika Srpska is in the midst of a major investment cycle, and we will keep working,” Minić said.

Mrkonjić Grad Mayor Dragan Vođević said that the municipality had the honour of hosting the leadership of Republika Srpska, as well as entrepreneurs, namely the people that mean the development of this region.

“We hope that such meetings will be held even more frequently in the future, because today we are discussing everything that is needed to improve the economic position and situation of our businesspeople in Mrkonjić Grad and the surrounding area. Of course, the Republika Srpska Government stands behind all of this, and through its measures it has a great deal of understanding for the needs of our entrepreneurs and is working to improve their position and enable their development,” Vođević said.

Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović, President Milorad Dodik, and Republika Srpska Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship Radenko Bubić also attended the meeting with entrepreneurs.
