MILIĆI, JULY 2 /SRNA/ – Mihajlo Đurić, a ninth-grade student at the Aleksa Jakšić Primary School in Milići, has won a bronze medal at the European Geography Olympiad held in Varna, Bulgaria.
Đurić told SRNA it was a great honour to have the opportunity to represent his school at such a prestigious competition.
"I am very pleased with the result and happy to be bringing a medal back to my school and my hometown. I owe special thanks to my geography teacher, Svetlana Radić, who believed in me, guided me throughout my preparations and was my greatest support," Đurić said.
Radić said that months of dedicated work had paid off and that the bronze medal shines like gold.
"I am overjoyed by Mihajlo's success. For us, this is a bronze medal with the shine of gold. We prepared throughout the entire school year, working hard and systematically, which is why I am immensely proud of his achievement," Radić told SRNA.
She added that Mihajlo had demonstrated that world-class results can be achieved even in smaller communities through hard work, determination and dedication.
The European Geography Olympiad in Bulgaria brought together some of Europe's most talented young geography students. The success of the Milići primary school's future graduate is expected to provide a strong boost to the further development and promotion of young talents in the region.
