BANJA LUKA, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ – His Eminence Metropolitan Lukijan of Buda said in Banja Luka tonight that it is always important to preserve Republika Srpska and affirm its statehood within BiH.
Metropolitan Lukijan reminded that the recent general elections had reaffirmed support for the Serb political order led by Milorad Dodik.
"This affirms Republika Srpska's statehood before the court of history," the bishop said.
The metropolitan attended the "Days of Serbian Culture in Hungary" event held at the Republika Srpska Government headquarters.
The event featured the presentation of a scholarly monograph on Grabovac Monastery, an exhibition of art photographs by Ivan Jakšić featured in the monograph, and a commemorative postage stamp issued by Pošte Srpske dedicated to Szentendre.
Snežana Martić of Pošte Srpske said she was pleased that an event of this kind had been organized in Banja Luka and that a commemorative stamp had been presented there.
Grabovac Monastery is one of the most important and oldest Serbian holy sites in Hungary. The monograph about the monastery was prepared by art historian Ksenija Golub.
Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić also attended the event, stressing the importance of Serbs preserving their culture, faith and sense of belonging to the Serb people wherever they live.
