METROPOLITAN HRIZOSTOM - PALE A SYMBOL OF SERBIAN UNITY AND RESISTANCE

PALE, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA/ - His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia said that Pale is a symbol of Serbian unity and resistance during the most difficult periods in 20th-century Serbian history.

Thanking His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije for coming to consecrate the Church of the Assembly of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in this local community, Metropolitan Hrizostom said that this church represents and embodies Serbian gratitude to God.

“This church represents our gratitude and remembrance of all those who, in this historic place of Pale, created a new chapter of Serbian history,” Metropolitan Hrizostom said after a doxology was served to mark His Holiness’s arrival.

According to him, the Serbian Patriarch has come to historic Pale at the right time.

“Welcome on this blessed occasion, not only to consecrate this beautiful memorial church, but also to bring us the blessings of Saint Sava and all Serbian archbishops and patriarchs up to the present day,” the Metropolitan said.

Metropolitan Hrizostom reminded that construction of the church began back in 2008 and that, with God’s help, good people and the faithful did everything necessary to bring it to completion.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije arrived in Pale, where he was given a ceremonial welcome in front of the Church of the Assembly of the Holy Archangel Gabriel, which he will consecrate tomorrow.

The church will be consecrated tomorrow at 9:00 a.m., followed by the celebration of the Divine Hierarchical Liturgy, the website of the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosnia announced.
