TESLIĆ, AUGUST 8 /SRNA/ – His Eminence Metropolitan Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla has said today in Teslić that it is a great joy to see a churchyard filled with people who do not forget their traditions and customs.
Metropolitan Fotije, who consecrated the foundations of a parish house dedicated to King Dragutin today in Teslić, located in the churchyard of the Memorial Church of the Holy Trinity, said he was pleased that the building's architecture was connected with the old towers built during the Middle Ages, when they served a defensive purpose.
The Metropolitan said that such architecture, together with icons and frescoes, represents a great treasure of the Orthodox people.
"It was a great day when the Church of the Holy Trinity was consecrated, when people came and began praying to God. This is now an addition," Metropolitan Fotije stated.
Earlier today, Metropolitan Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla served the Holy Liturgy at the Memorial Church of the Holy Trinity in Teslić, together with His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac and His Grace Bishop Heruvim of Osječko-Polje and Baranja.
In February last year, Metropolitan Fotije consecrated the start of construction of the parish house dedicated to King Dragutin.
The building, which represents a debt to ancestors and a pledge to descendants, will be a modern facility with two towers - the Kosovo Tower, symbolically representing Holy Prince Lazar, and the Hilandar Tower, symbolizing Saint Sava.
The building will have three floors and will include offices, a memorial room, a library and a community dining hall, among other facilities. The entire complex is expected to have around 2,000 square meters of usable space.
