MEP CONGRATULATES KARAN ON VICTORY: YOUR ELECTION ENSURES CONTINUITY OF MILORAD DODIK’S POLICIES AND SRPSKA'S INSTITUTIONS

BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 10 /SRNA/ - Member of the European Parliament Andre Rouge congratulated the newly elected President of Republika Srpska, Siniša Karan, on his election victory, noting that he received the news of his election to this highly significant position with great satisfaction.

Rouge emphasized that Karan's election as President of Republika Srpska ensures the full continuity of the actions previously led by Milorad Dodik and the legitimate institutions of Republika Srpska, aimed at preserving constitutional sovereignty and regional stability.

"I particularly welcome the clarity of the message you sent immediately after your victory, when, on election night, you stated that Republika Srpska will remain a factor of peace and stability in the region, with strict respect for the competencies recognized to it under the Dayton-Paris agreements. Such a course, faithful to the letter and spirit of these fundamental agreements, deserves to be highlighted and supported," the European Parliament member emphasized in his congratulatory message to Karan.

Rouge added that, in his capacity as a member of the Delegation for relations with BiH, he has repeatedly emphasized in the European Parliament that full and consistent respect for the Dayton-Paris agreements represents the only legitimate and lasting basis for the coexistence of the entities and peoples in BiH.

"Mr. President, be assured that you will have my consistent support, as well as that of my colleagues from the National Rally, in defending the rights and competencies of Republika Srpska, with full respect for the international legal framework that protects it. Please accept my deepest respect and sincerest wishes for success in carrying out your mandate," Rouge stated.
