PRNJAVOR, DECEMBER 4 /SRNA/ - A memorial service was held today at the Orthodox cemetery in Radlovac in Prnjavor for 22 victims of the Ustasha terror, and wreaths were laid at the memorial in their remembrance.

The president of SUBNOR in Prnjavor Rade Radonjić said that every year on this day, tribute is paid to the killed young Serb men from the nearby villages of Mlinci, Paramije, Čorle, Donji Galjipovci, and Srpovci.

He emphasized that they were brutally killed solely because they were Serbs and appealed to the relevant institutions to improve access to this memorial.

"The Zihova Pit is located nearby, a mass grave in which around a hundred victims killed in the most brutal manner were buried. I believe that in the near future it will also be possible to pay respects to the innocent victims at that site,” Radonjić told SRNA.

The President of the Prnjavor City Assembly Dražen Mikić thanked SUBNOR and the city's Veterans' Organization for preserving the legacy of the anti-fascist struggle.

The monument in Radlovac, dedicated to the Serb victims killed on December 4, 1941, was erected in 1973 and restored and consecrated in 2011.

There are around 37 memorials at various locations in the Prnjavor area dedicated to the victims who perished between 1941 and 1945.
