BANJA LUKA, June 16 /SRNA/ – Srđan Mazalica, head of the SNSD club in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, has stressed in Banja Luka today that the adoption of the proposed budget rebalance for this year, totaling BAM 8.525 billion, will define Republika Srpska's future development path.
"It is extremely important that the proposed budget rebalance provides additional funding for salaries, pensions, veterans' benefits, social categories, the economy and education. Can any member of parliament be against this"? Mazalica said during the parliamentary debate on the proposed budget rebalance.
He emphasized that Republika Srpska's total debt will amount to 42.6 percent of gross domestic product /GDP/, which is lower than it was several years ago.
"The proposed budget rebalance is development-oriented and its adoption will enable a significant step forward in the fiscal sector, public investment and GDP growth", Mazalica added.
He noted that Republika Srpska has reduced its indebtedness over the past several years.
"Republika Srpska now has better access to financial markets. We have the opportunity to borrow under more favorable conditions, and the goal is to implement major development projects", Mazalica said.
