BANJA LUKA, JUNE 3 /SRNA/ - Head of the SNSD Caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly Srđan Mazalica told SRNA that the Republika Srpska-based opposition cannot say anything new to the Peace Implementation Council’s Steering Board that would be in the interest of Republika Srpska, but unknown to the ambassadors - they can only say what the internationals want to hear, which is not beneficial for Republika Srpska.
Mazalica emphasizes the PIC positions have consistently been unfauvorable toward Republika Srpska.
"Individual meetings with ambassadors are not the issue. What is problematic is the agenda, the composition, and the context. The problem lies in recognising a body that is informal, not founded in the Dayton Peace Agreement, but serves as the backbone of efforts to turn BiH into a medieval-style colony. China and Russia have already withdrawn from the PIC Steering Board, that should be clear to everyone," Mazalica said.
He points out that the political parties being selectively invited, with an attempt to form a government made up of Bosniak and Serb parties that do not have majority legitimacy to represent their peoples, is also problematic.
According to him, the meeting before the PIC Steering Board ambassadors is a "fig leaf" to justify meeting with the illegitimate Christian Schmidt, who is expected to amend the Constitution of BiH in order to install the "Troika" from Republika Srpska in the Council of Ministers.
"That’s why this is a strategy to break Republika Srpska," Mazalica declared.
He reminds that the PIC Steering Board is an informal body composed of ambassadors from countries that represent one-ninth of the world's population and that, by appointing Schmidt without UN Security Council confirmation, it grossly violated Article 41 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations - not only by interfering in BiH’s internal affairs, but by treating BiH as the worst kind of colony.
"With the departure of /former U.S. ambassador/ Michael Murphy, Christian Schmidt now presents himself as the head of that body, and his main mentors are the British, Germans, and French, who are constantly putting pressure on Republika Srpska and its competencies," Mazalica emphasized.
Representatives of the Office of the High Representative /OHR/ called on the opposition parties from Republika Srpska /PDP, SDS, and the Movement for Justice and Order /, parties of the "Troika" from the Federation of BiH /SDP, NiP, and NS/, as well as HDZ BiH, to attend a meeting in Sarajevo.
