MAZALICA: BLANUŠA - CANDIDATE SHAPED TO BOSNIAKS' MEASURE

BANJA LUKA, NOVEMBER 17 /SRNA/ – The head of the SNSD Caucus in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska Srđan Mazalica believes that Bosniaks will support the opposition's candidate Branko Blanuša in the upcoming snap elections for President of Republika Srpska, that is, "a candidate who suits them".

"What /Republika Srpska Vice President Ćamil/ Duraković finds unacceptable about /SNSD candidate Siniša/ Karan is also tied to the fact that Karan is unacceptable to the Central Election Commission /CEC/ of BiH, the Court of BiH, and /Christian/ Schmidt. That is why Siniša Karan's victory would be the best response to all of them, to all those who despise Republika Srpska," Mazalica said.

He told SRNA that, aside from the fact that calling these elections is unconstitutional, the process also contains a logical inconsistency and a violation of the law.

"Considering that around 40,000 votes were counted for Bosniak candidates three years ago, that is not a small number and it can realistically influence the outcome of the elections. Since the CEC BiH has already violated the Constitution by calling these elections, it should have called elections for the president and vice presidents, because that is a single electoral process. This way, everyone is trying to contribute to the defeat of SNSD and our candidate Siniša Karan," Mazalica said.

He noted that in regular elections, citizens can vote for candidates from all three constituent peoples, with the candidate who receives the highest number of votes becoming president, and the next two, belonging to the other two peoples, becoming vice presidents.

"If we theoretically assume that Bosniaks will vote for Bosniak candidates and Croats for Croat candidates, then in these current elections only Serbs would be voting, which is, of course, impossible to implement," Mazalica said.
