MAZALICA: BEĆIROVIĆ REMAINS TRAPPED IN SARAJEVO'S POLITICAL NARRATIVE OF THE 1990s

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ – Srđan Mazalica, head of the SNSD Caucus in the Republika Srpska National Assembly, told SRNA that BiH Presidency Chairman Denis Bećirović has once again remained trapped in Sarajevo’s political narrative of the 1990s.

Mazalica said that Bećirović's speech at the United Nations demonstrated, above all, how wrong it is when one member of the Presidency attempts to present his personal and party views as the position of BiH.

He emphasized that the speech had not been agreed upon within the Presidency of BiH and that Bećirović therefore did not speak on behalf of the three constituent peoples and the two entities, but on behalf of the political position he himself represents.

"What is particularly telling is that, even before the world's most important international organisation, he once again presented a narrative according to which Serbia and Republika Srpska are the source of almost all problems in BiH. While the world is facing enormous geopolitical, security, and economic challenges, Bećirović has once again remained trapped in Sarajevo's political narrative of the 1990s," Mazalica emphasized.

He pointed out that it is even more paradoxical that Bećirović calls for respect for sovereignty and international law while, at the same time, defending the OHR and foreign judges who make decisions in BiH instead of its democratically elected representatives.
