PALE, OCTOBER 1 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Draga Mastilović said that the opening of SRNA’s impressive new premises in Pale was a glorious day as SRNA returned home, thanks to the unwavering support of the Republika Srpska leadership.

Mastilović conveyed to those attending the ceremony the greetings and congratulations of Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić.

He stressed that the Republika Srpska Government allocated around BAM 1.2 million for SRNA’s permanent premises in Pale and said he was very pleased at the Government session when the decision was made to resolve the issue of SRNA’s premises.

Mastilović recalled that SRNA was one of the first institutions of Republika Srpska.

"We know the conditions in which these people worked in those early days and the responsibility they carried, but also how honourably they fulfilled their duty," Mastilović stressed.

He recalled moments from the battlefield when SRNA journalists were near the front lines and were often in mortal danger.

"What SRNA means to Republika Srpska is difficult to put into words. I am delighted by this moment today, precisely because SRNA naturally belongs in Pale, and this is certainly another sign that Pale is becoming the capital of Republika Srpska," Mastilović said while opening SRNA’s new premises.

He confirmed that the Republika Srpska Government is investing heavily in Istočno Sarajevo, particularly in Pale, where several projects, supported financially by the Republika Srpska Government, are currently being implemented.

"I am certain that Pale will become an increasingly important place in the period ahead and will officially become the capital of Republika Srpska, certainly thanks to institutions such as the Media System of Republika Srpska – SRNA," Mastilović said.

He added that, thanks to such institutions, Pale would continue to be recognised not only in Republika Srpska and the region, but much further afield as well.
