BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 12 /SRNA/ – Director of the Tax Administration of Republika Srpska Goran Maričić told SRNA that as of December 8, tax revenue collection reached BAM 4 billion and 155 million, which is 10 percent more than in the same period last year.
"We had already surpassed last year’s total collection at the beginning of December," Maričić said.
He noted that direct taxes are up by five percent, income taxes by 16 percent, and property taxes by 12 percent.
"In terms of contributions, 10 percent more has been collected compared to last year – the total collection sums up to BAM 2 billion and 640 million," Maričić emphasized in SRNA’s podcast.
Maričić said that the Tax Administration carried out 3,650 inspections this year, determining BAM 19.5 million in new tax liabilities, and discovered around 2,000 irregularities during 3,695 inspections of fiscal registers.
Speaking about the grey economy, Maričić pointed out that the Administration is conducting a series of intensified inspections, noting that the new fiscalization system significantly contributes to reducing grey-market activity.
"The fact that reported revenue through fiscal devices is 70 percent higher indicates the extent to which this grey zone has likely been reduced," Maričić said.
He noted that digital tools, including the "Electronic Mailbox," increase transparency and efficiency within the Administration.
Maričić emphasized that the stabilization of political circumstances provides optimism for economic growth and higher public revenues.
