BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ - The improvement in Republika Srpska’s credit rating shows that its responsible financial management and economic policies have been recognised by domestic and international investors, Director of the Republika Srpska Tax Administration Goran Maričić said.

Maričić stressed that it was particularly significant that such confirmation had come from the renowned international agency S&P Global Ratings.

"When such an important confirmation comes from a renowned agency such as S&P Global Ratings, it is a clear sign that the Republika Srpska leadership is pursuing sound policies aimed at preserving and reaffirming its stability, both politically and financially," Maričić said.

According to him, the improvement in the credit rating is even more significant when viewed in the context of the current geopolitical and economic environment.

Maričić believes that Republika Srpska recognised changes on the international stage in time and adapted its policies accordingly, which, he said, is now also confirmed by assessments from relevant international institutions.

"Numerous countries have recorded a deterioration in their credit ratings, while Republika Srpska has demonstrated that prudent management and clear policies can produce results both politically and economically, at home and on the international stage," Maričić concluded.

International credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s /S&P Global Ratings/ has conducted its regular annual assessment of Republika Srpska’s credit rating and published its latest report, confirming Republika Srpska’s credit rating at B, while improving its outlook from "negative" to "stable."
