ŠAMAC, OCTOBER 14 /SRNA/ - Maja Vidović, president of the Posavina Historian's Club in Šamac, is the only representative of Republika Srpska at the international "Serbia-Russia-Yugra" media school in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.

Vidović told SRNA that it was an honor to have such an opportunity and that, as a historian, she particularly recognized the importance of preserving the culture of remembrance, presenting historical facts and strengthening ties between peoples connected by history, tradition and culture.

She said participation in the international program represented a significant professional and personal experience, as well as an opportunity to present Republika Srpska in an international setting.

According to Vidović, such gatherings allow participants to exchange knowledge and experience and build cooperation that can yield long-term results.

"Participants have the opportunity to improve their skills in journalism, video production, podcasting, digital media and media literacy through lectures and practical workshops, with particular emphasis on critical thinking and responsible reporting," Vidović said.

She noted that participants in the media school were also received by Yugra Governor Ruslan Kukharuk, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening ties between peoples and developing international cooperation.

Đina Vesić, director of the Bitije publishing house, said the media school provided an important opportunity to connect young people and develop cooperation between Serbia and Russia.

"Through the media, we can bring the culture, history and traditions of our peoples closer together, while also creating space for new joint initiatives. I believe the knowledge gained and contacts established will continue to bear fruit after the program ends," Vesić said.

The media school is organized by the Russian Krasnaya Lodka Production Center with support from a grant provided by the governor of Yugra, while the project's Serbian partner is the Bitije publishing house.

The program brings together media representatives, bloggers and other content creators from Serbia and Russia with the aim of improving media knowledge and skills, exchanging professional experience and strengthening cultural ties between the two peoples.

The first phase of the school is being held in Khanty-Mansiysk from Saturday to Friday, October 10-16, while the second phase is planned for Belgrade from November 16 to 20
