FOČA, MAY 8 /SRNA/ - The director of the University Hospital in Foča Nenad Lalović says that during the term of Prime Minister Savo Minić, the Republika Srpska Government carried out historic projects for this healthcare institution by allocating BAM 48 million for the completion of its full reconstruction, the construction of a modern infectious diseases clinic, and the procurement of complete medical equipment.

"The equipment for all departments represents the global standard for treating patients in all fields of medicine. This is a historic moment for our institution as in this way we are fulfilling all the requirements of a modern University Clinical Centre, as well as becoming a serious teaching base for our prestigious Faculty of Medicine," Lalović told the press in Foča after meeting with Minić.

Lalović added that more than 2,000 students are currently studying at the Faculty of Medicine in Serbian, along with 600 students from 38 countries across Europe and the world who attend classes in English.

Regarding the reconstruction of the hospital and the procurement of equipment, Lalović said that a tender would be announced within the next seven days.

"Once the complete tender documentation and procedure are finalized, all equipment will be delivered this year because the Government has secured the funds. The pace of construction work will be planned over a certain period, considering that we must continue operating, working, and treating our patients. That slightly slows down the reconstruction, but after the completion of the Internal Medicine and Cardiology Clinic, the process will move much faster," Lalović added.

He also stated that during Minić's term, Foča would officially receive city status within the next few days.

"Extremely grateful to the prime minister, the Government, and President Milorad Dodik, who has always been of great help to us. Also, many thanks to my team and all employees of this institution, because without them all of this would have been impossible," Lalović concluded.
