BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 22 /SRNA/ – Unlike the opposition, the SNSD has clear policies and a clear program, with Republika Srpska and its protection as the top priority, SNSD spokesperson Radovan Kovačević said.
He stated that the SNSD will timely present its "winning candidates for the next general elections" to the public.
"We have a large number of people who can properly represent Republika Srpska in all positions," Kovačević said.
He pointed to what he described as a "soap opera and never-ending saga within the opposition," which, according to him, has between eight and fifteen candidates for two positions.
"Whether these are the right candidates and whether there is real quality among them is another matter altogether, and the citizens themselves will decide," Kovačević stressed.
Kovačević noted that it is interesting that Branko Blanuša appears rather undecided about whether he should be president of the SDS, even commenting that the position should perhaps be left to someone with more political experience.
"So, you are willing to be President of Republika Srpska, a candidate for President of Republika, believing you could make all the key decisions affecting the lives of the citizens of Republika Srpska, yet you think you are not capable or experienced enough to be president of one, now we can freely say, minor political party," Kovačević said.
He emphasized that this best illustrates the level of seriousness within the opposition’s overall structure.
Kovačević pointed out that for years there have been individuals who are the loudest, but who are nowhere to be seen when responsibility needs to be taken or when it is time to face political competition directly.
He described them as "a group without a clear goal, platform, or program, which the citizens of Republika Srpska have clearly recognized for decades."
"On the other hand, within the SNSD we have clear policies, a clear program, Republika Srpska as our top priority, protection of Srpska in Sarajevo and at all other international addresses, protection of the position, autonomy and status of the Republic guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement, and a fight for a better life for every citizen of Srpska," Kovačević told RTRS.
Kovačević said that SNSD will continue to work in this manner and that in the coming period salaries will be increased in many sectors - culture, education and public administration.
He recalled that a significant increase in pensions has been announced, as well as an increase in veterans’ allowances, agreed with representatives of the Republika Srpska Veterans’ Organization, an increase in benefits for war veterans with disabilities, and a major investment cycle worth more than four billion convertible marks across all areas of life in Republika Srpska, with infrastructure as the top priority.
"We are moving forward with strong momentum toward new development and the defense of Republika Srpska," Kovačević concluded.
