KOVAČEVIĆ THANKS LATE KUSTURIĆ FOR DEDICATED SERVICE TO REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

BANJA LUKA, MAY 6 /SRNA/ – Serb delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević thanked the late Head of the Aviation Department of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior /MUP/, Boban Kusturić, for his honorable service to the homeland.

"Thank you for every child saved, every life saved, every fire extinguished…," Kovačević wrote in a post on the social network X.

Kovačević, who is also the SNSD spokesperson, also thanked Kusturić for every friendly word of support.

"May your skies be clear and eternal glory to you, hero!" Kovačević said, following the sudden death of Kusturić.

Boban Kusturić /52/, Head of the Aviation Department of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior, was found dead in a weekend house in the Banja Luka settlement of Česma, and a police investigation established that there were no elements of a criminal offense in his death.

Kusturić was born on September 8, 1974, in Banja Luka. He graduated from the Military Academy of the Yugoslav Army - Department of Air Force and Air Defense in Belgrade in 1997, earning the rank of aviation officer - pilot.

He worked as a pilot in the Army of Republika Srpska from 1997 to 2005.

After that, he continued working at the Directorate for Civil Aviation of Republika Srpska as the head of the SAR Rescue Helicopter Unit of Republika Srpska.

He served as Director of the Republika Srpska Helicopter Service from 2008 until April 2025, and after its reorganization and the establishment of the Aviation Department, he served as its head.

He was awarded the Order of Miloš Obilić, presented to him by the President of Republika Srpska.
