KOVAČEVIĆ: SRPSKA OFFICIALS IN WASHINGTON, MOSCOW AND JERUSALEM - FEW COUNTRIES ENJOY SUCH STATUS IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ – Serb BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović is in the United States, where she will hold important meetings, while President Milorad Dodik and Prime Minister Savo Minić are expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on September 29, Serb deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Radovan Kovačević said, assessing that few countries can boast such a status in international relations.

"The goal is for Srpska to be better in all aspects," Kovačević said.

He pointed out that Cvijanović achieved significant results for Republika Srpska globally, making a major contribution to changing approach towards Srpska.

He said that Cvijanović, who is currently in the United States, will hold a large number of extremely important meetings in New York and Washington.

Kovačević assessed that Cvijanović had worked under impossible conditions in the BiH Presidency because she always faced Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić being against her and Republika Srpska.

"It is important that Cvijanović has achieved significant results for Republika Srpska globally," Kovačević said.

He recalled that Cvijanović had held meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, with Israeli officials, where she represented Srpska's positions in the best possible way.

"She made an enormous contribution to changing the attitude and the overall environment toward Srpska. It is a huge success that Srpska representatives have, over the past 30 days, held meetings with the President and Prime Minister of Israel, Isaac Herzog and Benjamin Netanyahu, at which significant projects in agriculture, innovation, and security were agreed," Kovačević said.

He recalled that Republika Srpska representatives have a completely clear concept regarding relations with Sarajevo.

"Unfortunately, opposition representatives do not understand this and behave as if we are going to Sarajevo to run some government. No, we go to Sarajevo with only one task, which is protecting Srpska, its economy, rights, and interests," Kovačević told RTRS.

He says the opposition is once again raising the excise duties issue, even though they had not proposed reducing them.

"They proposed that the right to decide on excise duties be permanently taken away from Republika Srpska and that Sarajevo should make the decisions. We will never accept this, and the opposition knows that. We are for reducing excise duties, but not of Sarajevo deciding on it," Kovačević said.
